SIX SIGMA AND LEAN MANUFACTURING

Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing are some of the career expanding skills you will learn from the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Off-Campus Industrial Technology Program. The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in Industrial Technology (IT):

· IT is an excellent major for students who want to develop a combination of technical and managerial career skills.

· IT prepares students for supervisory and technical management positions in manufacturing as well as in a wide variety of service business.

·IT has recent graduates with the following typical job titles: quality engineer, maintenance supervisor, industrial specialist, management analyst, aircraft    metals technologist, project manager and industrial engineer.

·IT offers a specialized weekend format for the convenience of students who are already working.

·IT offers Capstone Option that makes it possible for students holding Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree to complete BS degree requirements within two years.

·IT allows students with work related experience and/or occupational training to receive credit toward the degree.

·IT  is one of the longest-accredited programs in the U.S. by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT).
